#NewMusicTuesday: Timeflies, To Dream EP

Timeflies bandmates Cal Shapiro and Rob Resnick met at a college party at Tufts University where Shapiro freestyled over Resnick’s beatboxing, but they never expected that their impromptu duet would grow into a music career! Though Resnick was already part of a band at the time, the two eventually went on to perform as a duo, calling themselves Timeflies, the band we now know and love.

Like many of today’s stars, the two started out recording on YouTube, and gained popularity thanks to their hit song “Fade.” Since 2010, the group has sold over 150,000 albums and 800,000 singles. Plus, fans have watched their videos a combined 175 million times! Despite their massive online following, however, the band hasn’t let their fame get to their heads—the guys still use YouTube to get their music out there, posting new songs, covers and performances every Tuesday as part of their Timeflies Tuesdays series.

Timeflies’ new EP, To Dream, is out now and the two are headed out on tour to promote it. Our Ellie Lee caught up with them in an exclusive interview—watch below to get to know these two talented artists, and check out their tracks on iHeartRadio!
