#NewMusicTuesday: Chvrches, Love Is Dead

Scottish electro-pop band Chvrches got its fans amped up for their new album, Love Is Dead, out Friday, in a major way! The group debuted four singles from the new record at a Toronto show earlier this week, playing “ii,” “Graffiti,” “Forever,” and “God’s Plan” just days before releasing their third album in its entirety. The group has been working on it since February 2017 and only shared a taste of their new music in January 2018, with the release of single, “Get Out.” Suffice it to say, their fans were eager for some new tunes, and the moment they’ve been waiting for is finally here!

The band, which consists of Lauren Mayberry, Iain Cook and Martin Doherty, has been together since 2012 and is beloved by fans not only in their native Scotland, but also around the world. With a masters in feminist studies, frontwoman Mayberry has been vocal about political issues, particularly women’s rights and gun control, and has helped establish her group as a socially conscious one—we love the honesty and passion in their lyrics!

Chvrches is celebrating the release of their new album with us today—they’ll be playing for fans at the iHeartRadio Theater in New York City for an intimate iHeartRadio Album Release Party. Watch it on YouTube below!
