#NewMusicTuesday: JoJo

JoJo needs minimal introduction – we’ve loved her music ever since she broke onto the scene with “Leave (Get Out)” and became the youngest solo artist ever to have a No. 1 single in the U.S.

But it hasn’t been all smooth sailing for this talented artist. Legal troubles with her original record label and her own personal struggles left the artist without an avenue to release new albums, so JoJo got creative. Releasing two stellar mixtapes, Can’t Take That Away from Me in 2010 and Agápe in 2012, and launching her first headlining North American tour, The Agápe Tour, JoJo continued to hone her voice and do what she loves most: making great music.

On the 10th anniversary of her last studio album, The High Road, we couldn’t be more thrilled that JoJo is back with Mad Love. It’s a testament to her time out of the limelight and an honest look at what she’s been through over the past decade, but those strong JoJo vocals and her classic R&B touch still shines strong. It’s what makes a JoJo song so very JoJo, and we love that she has stayed true to her identity as an artist.

In the midst of her crazy schedule, JoJo stopped by our studios for an exclusive interview. Check out the below to hear from JoJo herself and see what advice she would have given her 15-year-old self. Keep going JoJo, we can’t wait to see what the next 10 years have in store for you!
